ABOUT RAVENSHOE
Ravenshoe is located at the South Western end of the Tablelands, another town full of history and charm. The township was established around the Timber Industry which flourished for many years until the controversial 1987 decision by the then Labour Government to allocate 900,000 hectares to “World Heritage Listing”.
It is the borderline between the high rainfall areas with lush rainforests and green pastures and the Gulf Savannah with dry open forests. The quiet town of Ravenshoe offers a relaxed lifestyle and is the gateway to the “Savannah Way” the in-land access road to the vast areas of the out-back Cattle Stations of Queensland.
Facilities include: Post Office, supermarket, newsagency, pubs, butcher, bakery, accommodation, mechanical workshops and Primary and Secondary Schools.
